Rana Driving School — Pupil Registration Terms of Service

Effective 12 May 2026 · Version 2026-05-12

These terms apply to all pupils receiving services from Rana Driving School, a trading name of RDS HUB LTD ("we", "us", "our"). By submitting the registration form you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — if anything is unclear, contact us at info@rds-hub-ltd.co.uk before signing up.

1. About these terms

This agreement covers driving lessons and test-preparation services provided by Rana Driving School and its DVSA-approved instructors.

Important — changes to DVSA rules in 2026. From 12 May 2026, only learner drivers themselves can book, change, swap or cancel their own car driving test. It is a criminal offence for anyone — including a driving instructor — to do this on someone else's behalf. We will not book or manage your test for you. We will, however, help you do it yourself (see Section 3).

2. Who can register

By registering, you ("the pupil") confirm that:

3. Our services

We provide:

We do not:

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

5. Fees and payment

6. Your right to cancel (online sign-ups)

If you signed up online, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, starting from the day you submit the registration form. If you ask us to start work (for example, begin lessons) within those 14 days, you agree we can begin, and you may be charged for any work already done if you cancel afterwards. To cancel, email us at info@rds-hub-ltd.co.uk.

7. DVSA test bookings — what you need to know

You are responsible for managing your own test. The current DVSA rules (as of 2026) include:

Your instructor can advise on timing and centre choice, but they cannot make the booking for you.

8. Test day

If we have agreed to take you to your test:

9. What we are not responsible for

Rana Driving School is not liable for:

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Privacy and data protection

Data controller: RDS HUB LTD (trading as Rana Driving School), info@rds-hub-ltd.co.uk.

What we collect: your name, date of birth, contact details, current address (and addresses in the last six months), provisional driving licence number and a copy of your licence, theory test certificate number (once obtained), lesson and payment records, and your signed registration form.

Why we collect it:

Lawful bases (UK GDPR): performance of a contract (delivering lessons); legal obligation (tax and identity-verification records); legitimate interests (keeping records to defend our business against complaints, audits or legal claims — we have considered your privacy rights and concluded these do not override our need to keep these records).

Retention: we keep your records for 6 years after your final lesson, in line with the Limitation Act 1980 and HMRC record-keeping requirements. After that, records are securely deleted.

Security: your data is stored securely with access limited to staff who need it. We do not sell your data, and we share it only with service providers (for example accounting, IT) who are bound by confidentiality.

Your rights under UK GDPR: you have the right to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. Some rights (for example erasure) may be limited where we have a legal duty or legitimate interest to keep records. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@rds-hub-ltd.co.uk.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at info@rds-hub-ltd.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and resolve them within 30 days. If we cannot resolve it, you can escalate to the DVSA (for instructor conduct) or the ICO (for data concerns).

12. Events outside our control

We are not liable for failure to deliver services due to events beyond our reasonable control — including extreme weather, industrial action, DVSA outages, illness, vehicle breakdown or government restrictions. Where possible, we will reschedule rather than cancel.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms if DVSA policy or UK law changes, or if we change how we operate. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of our services means you accept the updated terms.

14. General

By submitting the registration form you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms. Your submission acts as your electronic signature.
